PEOPLE in Bradford on low incomes could be in line for another cost of living payment – later this year.
Those that receive a Council Tax reduction due to low income were eligible for a £65 payment through the Government’s Household Support Fund in December.
Administered by Bradford Council, it has now been confirmed that a similar payment for winter 2023 is being looked at.
The money is intended to support those that need it the most, helping with energy and food costs.
A Bradford Council spokesperson said: “Households that receive Council Tax Reduction due to low income received a £65 payment paid to them in December 2022, plus £20 per child.

“The money came from the Department for Work and Pension’s Household Support Fund and is to support residents with the cost of living and support for energy and food costs.
“In April, the Council’s executive will be looking at proposals for a similar payment to these households for Winter 2023.”
Last time, residents did not need to apply in order to receive the payment, which included an extra £20 per eligible child in the same household.
Those that paid their Council Tax by direct debit received a payment into the same bank account. Others were sent a voucher that could be exchanged at the Pose Office for cash.
