Emergency services have issued a stark warning over the dangers of using nitrous oxide while driving.
Sold for a cheap price on social media and in shops, laughing gas has become one of Britain’s biggest intoxicants.
The worrying drugs trend has been linked to a number of serious crashes as well as cases of spinal cord and nerve damage in hospitals.
Bradford Council said it was becoming a "concerning trend" and how information about the dangers can save lives.
West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service (WYFRS), Bradford Council, West Yorkshire Police and Yorkshire Ambulance Service have since teamed up to share their urgent message to drivers in Centenary Square.
Crews created a mock road traffic accident, showing just how life can change in a matter of seconds.
Assistant district commander Imran Ali said: “Nitrous oxide has a big impact on a driver’s co-ordination, reflexes and judgement.
“We hope it hammers home how seriously we all take the use of nitrous oxide and the dangerous consequences it has for people in our communities.”
Bradford New Direction, Change Grow Live - a free and confidential drug and alcohol service - shared how anyone can get in touch for support.
