POLICE are facing criticism for doing nothing to reassure the public after conducting large forensic investigations across two Bradford estates.
West Yorkshire Police descended upon Brendon Walk, on the Holme Wood estate, while there were also police scenes in Coleshill Way and Bierley House Avenue, Bierley.
The force has not revealed whether the police cordons are linked, leaving residents in the dark.
One resident described hearing a “banging noise” when police arrived at an address in Holme Wood.
A significant police presence could be seen on Brendon Walk, including police vans and cars. Forensic officers were also seen.
One woman told the T&A: "The police showed up on Sunday and they keep coming back. CSI vans were there yesterday and late last night.
"And there were three cars including a van there this morning.
"I heard a banging noise at about 10am when they were there this morning.
"It sounded like wood being broken."
She added: "For three days, we've been wondering what's happening.
"It's quite scary.”
Another resident said: "We haven't been told anything.
"I know we can't be given any details, but it would nice if they could give us some reassurance."
One man said: "It’s getting worse and worse around here.
"The stuff you see on here is unbelievable.
"We've been here 40-odd years and it gets worse and worse.
"All you ever see is coppers and ambulances."
A spokesperson told the Telegraph & Argus the police presence was due to an ongoing enquiry.
In a statement, the spokesperson said: "Police executed a warrant at that location in relation to an ongoing enquiry."
Further crime scene investigations are also underway in Bierley.
West Yorkshire Police issued the same response for the scene on Coleshill Way and have not provided any details about the scene on Bierley House Avenue.
Councillor Matt Edwards (Green Party, Tong) said: "I know residents will be understandably concerned about the cordons.
"The police will be able to release more information when they are able to but for now it is important that people avoid speculation and let them get on with their job."
One person who lives on Redwood Crescent, a street attached to Coleshill Way, said: "It's always been quiet around here.
"There's no information from police and that's worrying for local residents.”
Another resident said police had been at Coleshill Way for about three days.
The resident said: "It was more than one police vehicle, and they were here at night.
"Forensics officers were here and they appeared to be gathering evidence.
"It's worrying for the community to see police around.
"I'm starting to think this area is not safe."
