A BRADFORD-based tailoring firm is looking to go to the next level after opening a bigger shop following major extension work.
IK Collections has been transformed following work inside its premises, which originally opened as a tailors in 1960.
The business has taken on a shop on Westgate which previously divided its two stores to convert it into one site.
The new-look site is split into three shop areas - the first is the existing space which fits and sells tuxedos and evening jackets.
The new shop in the middle, which opened last month, offers traditional tailoring services for shops.
This area also includes a workroom at the back which can be viewed by customers through a clear screen as staff work on suits and complete garment alterations and repairs.
The third and final area, Jannat by IK Collections, sells groomswear for Asian men. Jannat opened its doors in 2021.
The new and improved shop site also features a 20-space car park at the back for IK Collections' clients.
Its front window also features a framed picture of Imran Khan, IK Collections owner, meeting King Charles in City Hall during his visit to Bradford in November last year.
Mr Khan, who took over one of the Westgate shops in 2017 after starting the business three years earlier, said he is excited to have all of the sections of his business under one roof.
He said: “It’s really exciting.
“The extension is all about bringing it to the next level.
“People used to have to walk all the way round to get to the other shop.
“It’s all about being different. The work took about four weeks. We have an alteration centre here as well.”
The site, which bills itself as the Savile Row of the North, also plans to sell wedding dresses in a new section currently under construction.
IK Collections has made suits for a host of high-profile names including Keighley-born fundraiser Captain Sir Tom Moore, former Prime Minister Boris Johnson, former Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn and Dancing On Ice judge Christopher Dean.
The firm also made suits for Bradford City manager Mark Hughes and other club officials in time for the current season in League 2.
IK Collections is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 1.30pm to 7pm; Friday and Sunday between 1.30pm and 5pm and Saturdays from 1.30pm to 7pm and is closed every Monday.
