THE police have issued a warning about keyless entry following the theft of a Range Rover from the driveway of a home in the Clayton area of Bradford.

The West and City Neighbourhood Policing Team reported that between 3.45pm and 3.50pm yesteday (Tuesday) a white Range Rover Sport parked, locked and secured, was stolen from the driveway of a home on Clayton Lane, Clayton.

Bradford Telegraph and Argus:

Police reported the suspect or suspects approached the vehicle and gained keyless entry, which was believed to have been electrically compromised and therefore the thief or thieves managed to drive the vehicle away.

If anyone witnessed the event or saw a vehicle matching this description, they are encouraged to contact their Neighbourhood Policing Team.

A spokesperson for Bradford District - West and City NPT issued the following warning, saying: "There are steps to take if you have a keyless entry system.

"Always ensure your keyless fobs are kept in a Faraday Pouch or bag (sometimes called RFID bag) it is lined with a material, frequently copper-based, that contains the RF signal transmitted by a car key.

"The material absorbs and redistributes electronic signals from the key, not allowing them to escape."
