BRADFORD is included in a yellow warning with heavy snow set for the district later this week.

The district is forecast to have spells of snow of Thursday, according to the Met Office.

Heavy snow showers will start in Bradford at noon on Thursday and continue throughout the rest of the day, with temperatures only reaching a high of 1C.

The snow will turn to sleet showers this Friday until 3pm, when dry and cloudy conditions will take over as temperatures will reach a high of 4C.

Bradford is part of a wider yellow warning for heavy snow for large parts of the UK for this Thursday.

The yellow warning runs from 3am on Thursday, March 9 to 6pm on Friday, March 10. It covers Scotland, Northern Ireland, northern England, parts of the Midlands and North Wales.

The Met Office warning says heavy snow has the potential to cause significant disruption on Thursday and Friday.

Today (Tuesday) will be a dry and sunny day with temperatures reaching a high of 4C, which will plunge to -3 overnight tonight.

Tomorrow (Wednesday) will also be a dry and sunny day but colder, as mercury will only reach 4C and -1C overnight.
