PEOPLE in Bradford can grab a sweet treat at a new dessert shop which has backing from a social media food star.

Kookie Haven, based at Chacha’s Plaza, Westfield House, Lidget Green, officially opened its doors to customers on Saturday, March 4 and has proved popular ever since.

It sells a host of freshly made gelato ice-cream and desserts including cheesecakes.

Gelato flavours span a host of colours including blue for its bubble gum, strawberry and exotic mango. Other flavours include Kulfi pistachio and Ferraro Rocher.

Kookie Haven is also in partnership with Mr Tee’s, selling some of his own desserts in the shop.

Mr Tee bills himself as King Of Desserts - Innovator, Original and BEST and has 261,000 followers on Facebook.

Mr Tee’s treats on offer at Kookie Haven include Kinder Roche Mash-Up and The Oreo Biscuit Blue Tray. He held a meet and greet with customers at the Bradford shop on Monday, March 6.

The shop’s menu also looks to cater for anyone with a sweet tooth including offering sundaes, such as Bubble Mania and Strawberry Sensation, doughnuts, milk cakes and mini-Dutch pancakes.

Also on the menu is a selection of bubble teas, waffle fries, desi desserts and back-to-school puddings including jam roly poly and cornflake tart.

Kookie Haven’s items will also be available on both Just Eat and Uber Eats to customers within a three to four-mile radius of their Bradford store.

Mudassar Majid, Kookie Haven owner, said: “It’s been really busy, it’s been great since we opened. On Saturday and Sunday it was hectic. Mr Tee was in our shop on Saturday.

“Our aim is to have more outlets like this one.

“We want to be in shopping malls and hope to open eight to 10 shops in Yorkshire in the next two years. We hope to have them open within a one-hour or one-and-a-half-hour drive from us in Bradford.

“It’s richer and has got more flavour to it. It’s all made fresh.

“All of our gelatos and desserts in the shop are made in-house.

“It’s a really big investment for us to have a gelato machine. I really enjoy making it. I have been making the gelato at night after finishing work at the shop.

“Having Mr Tee with us has helped us too. It’s nice. We have been constantly been busy.”
