A man has avoided an immediate jail sentence after being caught with a lock knife near Bradford city centre.
Richard Allan, 44, admitted possessing a knife in a public place on August 24, 2022, on Little Horton Lane in Bradford.
Allan, of Sleningford Road, Bingley, pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates’ Court.

He was jailed for three months, suspended for 12 months, and must pay a total of £239 to the courts, to fund victim services and £85 of costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.
Court documents show that in determining Allan’s sentence magistrates found the offence to be so serious.
They also added that in the event that the suspended sentence is activated, no bail remand days will count.
