MEMBERS have been left confused after a big Bradford city centre gym suddenly shut.
easyGym Bradford, which is located on the first floor of Arndale House on Charles Street, announced its closure with a notice on its doors yesterday.
The £1.5m business, only a stone's throw away from The Broadway Shopping Centre, opened to great fanfare in August 2017.
The notice says the gym will be closed until "further notice" due to "unforeseen circumstances beyond our control".
"It was my partner who found out this morning, she goes every day," said one annoyed member.
"We have been there since it opened and now the thought of relocating for her is worrying.
"You become comfortable in a gym and your surroundings. Where it is in the city centre, it's safer as the foot traffic is much higher around there.
"It is annoying as most of us continued to pay during lockdown and supported them.
"It would have been nice to have some kind of heads up, so members could have organised an alternate gym."
The full notice read: "We regret to inform you that we have made the difficult decision to close our business until further notice.
"This decision was not taken lightly, but due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, we are unable to continue operations at this time.
"We want to express our sincere gratitude for your support and patronage over the years.
"We have enjoyed serving you and appreciate the trust you have placed in us
"We understand that this news may come as a disappointment, and we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
"We assure you that we will do everything in our power to keep you informed of any updates regarding the status of our business.
"If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We will do our best to respond to your inquiries in a timely manner.
"Once again, we thank you for your loyalty and support and we hope to have the opportunity to see you again in the future."
