A BRADFORD fast food restaurant has been given a literary makeover to mark World Book Day.
The McDonald’s restaurant on Rooley Lane in Bradford has been given a literary makeover this week, with the unveiling of a special World Book Day-themed story corner, offering families a comfortable space where they can take time out to enjoy a read-along together.
McDonald’s partnered with independent charity the National Literacy Trust to identify five locations across the UK with lower literacy levels, including Bradford, Coventry, Derby, Dundee, and Northampton.
The cosy corners have been decked out with colourful bunting, World Book Day-themed fancy dress, comfy cushions and books.
The books include Paddington: Out and About and Rocket Rules – available to collect for free in McDonald’s restaurants across UK and Ireland until Thursday, March 2.
Franchisee, Saj Shah, said: “We’re so pleased to host the World Book Day story corners in Bradford this year.
“It’s important to my team and me to support our local community and initiatives like this mean a lot to us.
“We love welcoming young families into our restaurant and the story corners mean we have even more to offer when they come in to enjoy a meal together.”
