A key road into the Bradford district remains closed - with Monday morning rush hour motorists reminded to find an alternative route.
Yorkshire Water started carrying out repairs on Bradford Road in Oakenshaw on Friday, digging a hole in the road.
When the T&A revisited the scene today (Sunday), the hole had got even bigger and it was clear that many hours of work still lay ahead.
Yorkshire Water has predicted that the work will last until Tuesday.
It said the repairs are essential and apologised for any noise disruption.
Signs at Odsal Top roundabout and near Low Moor rail station warn motorists of the road closure further along.
The signs point out that businesses in Oakenshaw are open as normal.
The Yorkshire Water project is the latest disruption in a village blighted by roadworks and traffic difficulties.
Just 100 metres further along Bradford Road, at the junction with Mill Carr Hill Road, traffic lights were already in place for another scheme.
A three-way control is needed while a large project is carried out on a pavement and part of the carriageway.
All this disruption on the main road has put more pressure on the lesser roads around the village, including those that run past the site where the Oakenshaw Cross once proudly stood.
At that junction, yet more cones are in place while Kirklees Council decides whether or not to reinstate the historic cross at its former location.
Residents have placed signs on the plinth where the Cross used to stand, calling for the return of the structure.
