The review said: “Called here for the first time last week, having failed to get a table on a previous visit.

“The ambience and decoration are excellent. After checking out the menu we ordered at the counter. Our drinks arrived very quickly followed soon after by the food.

“My fruit bread was gorgeous with plenty of butter. My husband loved his poached eggs which were cooked to perfection.

“Overall value for money is excellent. We will definitely call again at this very popular cafe. I can understand why people book in advance.”

One person wrote: “We have passed this cafe many times during walks and decided to call in for brunch today. I was expecting a traditional little cafe but it's so much more.

“There's a great menu and all very reasonably priced. My husband had a small breakfast with an extra egg and said it was perfect, especially the eggs. My toasted teacake was also great. I was almost tempted by the lovely looking Danish pastries.

“It was really busy when we visited and the staff work flat out while remaining friendly. Overall excellent value for money and we look forward to calling again.”
