A POLICE cordon was put in place this evening after an Audi smashed into a town centre bank.
The silver vehicle could be seen wedged into the bricked entrance of the Halifax bank on Market Street in Halifax.
It is understood the incident took place just before 6pm on Wednesday.
The road was blocked for a couple of hours and a cordon extended from Market Street to Russell Street and Old Market.
When the Telegraph & Argus attended the scene, the Audi A3 was being moved from the bank to be towed away.
Bricks were scattered across the entrance as officers investigated.
As of around 9pm, the police cordon had been removed and repair work continued.
West Yorkshire Police has been approached for a comment.
