A MEMBER of one of Britain’s biggest bands will be appearing at a Bradford district record store as part of his national solo album tour.
Radiohead drummer Philip Selway will be signing copies of his latest solo album, Strange Dance at Five Rise Records, Park Road, Bingley, this Sunday (February 26) between 2pm and 3pm.
Copies of Mr Selway’s third album, which is officially released on Friday, February 24, will be available to the Bingley store on both vinyl and CD. He has previously released albums titled Familial in 2010 and Weatherhouse four years later.
His Bingley album signing visit in Bingley is one of a number of appearances he is making to record stores across the country to mark the release of his LP. He will also appearing at sites in Sheffield and Leeds this Sunday to mark the release.
Mr Selway tweeted: “Hiya. To coincide with the release of Strange Dance, I’ve been invited to visit some great record shops around the UK and sign copies of the album. It would be lovely to see you there if you can make it!”
Radiohead are seen as one of the biggest British bands of the last 30 years. They initially found fame with their 1992 single ‘Creep’ and their popular albums include Kid A and OK Computer. Radiohead were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2019.
Aidy Dibb, Five Rise Records owner, says he is looking forward to meeting a member of one of his favourite bands.
He said: “It’s a big deal really. He is making an appearance in Sheffield on Sunday and then coming to us.
“Hopefully it’s the start of more names in music coming to the shop. It’s great as Radiohead are known all over the world and he is coming to my little shop in Bingley.

“I love Radiohead. I’ll have to make sure I’m not too much of a fanboy when he comes and stay as professional as I can.
“Philip is the biggest name we have had here. Bob Stanley, from St Etienne, comes into the shop.
“It’s great for the town. There are groups who are trying to turn the town into a music town.”
Mr Selway is not the first celebrity to appear at Five Rise Records, which opened in 2019. Jeff Hordley, who plays Cain Dingle in ITV soap Emmerdale performed a DJ set at the store to mark last year’s Record Store Day.
