A FIRST-look teaser photograph has been released for a new TV drama series filmed across the Bradford district.

Malpractice, which was filmed last year at City Hall and Shipley Town Hall, the former Shipley tax office, plus homes in Eccleshill and Rawdon, will be broadcast on ITV1 and ITVX in the spring.

ITV has released a first-look image of Niamh Algar, who plays lead character Dr Lucinda Edwards in the five-part drama series.

The story follows Dr Edwards, a doctor working on a shift that ends in the death of opioid overdose victim Edith Owusu.

The plot sees Edith’s grieving father Sir Anthony Owusu demand an inquiry into Lucinda’s actions on the night of her death.

Leading the inquiry are Dr Norma Callahan, played by Helen Behan and Lucinda’s former colleague, Dr George Adjei, played by Jordan Kouamé.

George feels what happened to Edith was an unavoidable tragedy, while Norma is suspicious of Lucinda’s behaviour and decisions in the lead-up to her death.

The drama’s cast also includes James Purefoy, who has previously starred in A Discovery of Witches. He plays medical supervisor, Dr Leo Harris.

ITV says the thriller tells the story of a damaged doctor caught up in a dangerous conspiracy.

The drama's stars were spotted filming scenes around City Hall in August 2022.

A number of large vehicles were seen around the building as filming got underway.

Scenes were also shot in five meeting rooms in City Hall.

Film crews also descended on the Moorside Road area of Eccleshill for the drama.

One grand house on the road caught the eye of location manager Tom Bartram whilst he was scouring Rightmove for sites to use in the series.

The former Shipley tax office was used as a site for filming through the summer of 2022.

A red ‘Accident and Emergency’ sign could be spotted on the front of the building.

It was previously used as a location for Keira Knightley's 2019 movie Official Secrets.
