AN INDEPENDENT bookshop in Haworth has been recognised as one of the best in the North of England for the second year running.
The judges from the British Book Awards have selected Wave of Nostalgia as one of one of eight Regional Finalists, only two of which are in West Yorkshire.
The judges looked not only at how successfully shops traded, but also what they did in their local community and how this impacted on bookselling and range.
Tom Tivnan, Managing Editor of The Bookseller, praised the finalists’ "innovation, entrepreneurship and creativity—all done in the service of local people.
“Entrants this year were stronger than ever, connecting with their communities in innovative, thoughtful and deeply engaging ways,” he added.
Diane Park, owner of Wave of Nostalgia, said: “The last year has been tough for everyone and we’re delighted that our hard work has meant our little business has continued to flourish.
“We are amazed and excited to find out we’re finalists. It’s really very special and we’d like to thank our wonderful customers and suppliers who helped us to achieve this accolade once again.”
