A CONVICTED sex offender from Bradford been jailed for 16 months after breaking a sexual harm prevention order (SHPO) on two occasions.
Christopher Thompson, 47, now of Stott Street, Nelson, was found guilty by a jury after a trial at Bradford Crown Court on Friday, February 10.
He was sentenced to 16 months in jail and the SHPO will remain in place for the rest of his life.
On sentencing the judge said that Thompson had no regard for this order and thought he would get away with breaching it.
Detective Chief Inspector Andy Woodhead, of Bradford’s Safeguarding Team, said: "We take the management of sex offenders extremely seriously, Thompson breached his SHPO on several occasions.
"Thompson is an example that we will pursue and prosecute those who chose not to follow the rules of the sexual harm prevention order.
"SHPO are used to protect both adults and children at risk from this type of offender.
"West Yorkshire Police are committed to safeguarding and protecting children."
