A photographer is keeping the magic of childhood alive at her new fairytale-themed studio.
Gemma Palmer always dreamt of owning her own business by the time she turned 40.
She is now the creative entrepreneur behind Photogemik Photography Studio, found on Undercliffe Road.
From festive winter wonderlands to a toadstool-filled fairyland, Gemma uses her imagination to create themed photo shoots.
Gemma, who started photography during her school days in Kent, says she is often described as being “away with the fairies".
She hopes to inspire more people to follow their dreams and create lasting memories with loved ones.
The Eccleshill photographer said: “The fairy theme has always held a special place in my heart.
“Before I moved to Bradford, I used to run Fairy Themed Events in Rochester Kent as Enchanted Gem Enterprises raising money for charities.
“Over the years I have attended many fairy festivals, so it was only natural that the theme has followed into my workplace.
“I have always dreamed of having my own studio space to get creative in, and now that dream has become a reality.
“The magic of my fairyland sessions starts before the shoot - when the child receives a letter and a magical key in the post from the Fairy Queen of the Enchanted Forest inviting them to the studio to help find the lost fairy dust.
“This helps to give the shoot direction, when they arrive at the studio I love seeing the smile on their faces as they pick out their costume and enter the fairyland studio set.
“Once the photos have been edited and the parents come back to their viewing session, The reaction is just priceless, as they ‘ohh and ahh’ over the magical photos.”
Gemma also offers personalised keepsake fairy story books, featuring photos from the shoot.
Describing her fascination with fairytales, she said: “The wonder of fairy tales, the enchantment of mythical beings and the ability to keep the magic alive, what's not to love.”
The studio has proved popular amongst Bradfordians - almost two months on from her milestone birthday.
She said: “I have always been told that I'm always dreaming and believing that you can be anything that you want to be.
“Although it is early days for the opening of the studio, I am really pleased with how it is going so far. There has been a great positive reaction from the locals. I'm excited to see what the future holds.”
