A COMMUNITY is in shock after a large police presence appeared on a Bradford street following four arrests in relation to a disturbance at a property.
The incident occurred at a home on Rushton Road, off Leeds Road, at around 8.30pm on Wednesday night.
Three men were arrested at the address and a fourth man was arrested at a house in Leeds shortly after.
Police believe someone, who is yet to come forward, was injured during the incident.
A Bradford Moor Ward councillor voiced his concerns.
Cllr Riaz Ahmed said: "It is frightening to see this in your own backyard.
"When it happens in your area, you start thinking about your own children and their safety.
"It is the last thing we want to see."
He added: "This crime is on the rise, not just in Bradford, but across the country.
"The community has to come forward, they are the eyes and ears of the police."
A massive police cordon remained in place on Thursday afternoon.
A black BMW was towed away and officers could be seen holding equipment, such as shovels, to help with their enquiries.
One shocked resident said: "It must have been serious, they had the police helicopter out.
"Someone must have been hurt.
"Police have been going door to door to ask if anybody saw something.
"It is just shocking to see this on your own street."
A spokesperson from the force said: "Detectives are appealing for witnesses after they were called to a disturbance on Rushton Road in Bradford yesterday evening.
"Officers arrived at the property at 20.34 and three males were arrested. A further male was arrested at an address in Leeds a short while later.
"A scene is currently in place whilst enquiries are ongoing."
Detective Chief Inspector Andy Farrell of Bradford CID said: “Our investigation is at an early stage and I would appeal to anyone in the area who saw anything suspicious to come forward.
“We have made several arrests in connection with the disturbance, we believe someone may have been injured who has yet to come forward, I would appeal directly to them to speak to us.
“We are working with our Neighbourhood colleagues and patrols have been stepped up in the area to provide reassurance.”
