FLOWERS have been left paying tribute to a man who died in a crash on Bradford Road in Birstall in the early hours of Friday morning.
Police were called at 12.06am on Friday when a black Volkswagen Golf travelling on Bradford Road collided with a stone wall at the junction of Musgrave Street.
A man in his 30s, named locally as Nick Bid, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Four other people travelling in the vehicle were taken to hospital.
One of the tributes at the scene read: "To Biddle, so sorry you had to go so early. We will all miss you. Rest in peace."
Another said: "Now then mate. You're going to be a big loss to a lot of people. You were the best mate but we will meet again. It's bye for now."
Another tribute read: "This still hasn't sunk in. I'm already missing you. Life will never be the same. I'm so so grateful for the memories we have and I will help look after your children and promise to be there for your boy."
The driver, a 25-year-old, was arrested in connection with the crash but has now been bailed pending further enquiries.
