PLANS to extend a cricket club’s pavilion will “benefit players, spectators and the wider community.”
A planning application to create a modern extension to Menston Cricket Club’s pavilion on Bradford Road was submitted by the club late last year.
The application said: “The extra internal space would provide a communal area and enable the existing bar to be relocated.
“This application would help to support the club and all its members.”
The club also said the plans also had support from the England Cricket Board and Sports England.

Planning officers at Bradford Council have now approved the development.
Officers said: “It is considered that the development will not prejudice the active use of the playing field and will support the existing established cricket club to improve and update their existing facilities.
“The extension will also upgrade the range of facilities on offer to the benefit of players and spectators and the wider community as a whole.”
