IDEAS for naming a street on a new housing development in Gomersal are needed.

Kirklees Council is inviting suggestions for the street off Oxford Road, where a residential development is taking place on the Holme Cottage site.

Names should not duplicate or closely resemble existing street names in the area.

In addition streets are generally not named after people, either living or those in the recent past.

Preference is often given to names with local connotations.

The development site is near to the Holme House care home site.

Suggestions should be sent to street.naming@kirklees.gov.uk, phoned through to 01484 221550 or posted to Building Control, Flint Street, Fartown, Huddersfield, HD1 6LG.

Receipt of suggestions is not normally acknowledged.

The deadline for submissions is Wednesday, February 8, 2023.
