READ: Calls mount for action at 'known accident spot' after serious crash

A DRIVER has been rushed to hospital after a large emergency presence, including the air ambulance, responded to a huge crash on a major road.

Police and fire and ambulance services were called out to the two-vehicle collision on Halifax Road, in Scholes, Cleckheaton, at around 9am on Monday.

A male patient was conveyed by road ambulance to Leeds General Infirmary.

It is believed a black BMW and a blue Renault were involved.

He said the car looked to be in “quite a state” and added that it also looked like a substantial tree had been hit.
