A CARE home has been praised for having ‘outstanding values’ in the Care Quality Commission’s (CQC) first inspection.
The health and social care watchdog visited Lyndhurst, on Carlton Road, Liversedge, on October 27, 2022.
The service, which specialises in care for young people with mental health needs, received an overall ‘good’ rating.
The home was also rated ‘good’ for safety, responsiveness, effectiveness and the inspection question, ‘is the service caring?’.
The CQC awarded Lyndhurst an ‘outstanding’ rating for leadership.
Danny Rawcliffe, the home’s registered manager, described the inspectors’ verdict as “a testament to the hard work everyone puts in every day”.
Published earlier this month, the report said: “The service was led by a management team who demonstrated outstanding values. They showed excellent insight into the complex needs of the people who they cared for and greatly valued and supported their staff team.
“Staff spoke passionately and positively about working at this home.
“People were firmly in control of their daily routines with support from staff where this was needed.

“Staff understood they worked in someone's home and respected their privacy and dignity. Equality, human rights, diversity and inclusion was a strong feature of this service.
“People were treated as partners in the management of their own risks. Risk assessments were detailed and provided strategies for how to reduce levels of risk. The service actively looked to learn lessons and continuously improve.
“People received their medicines as prescribed from staff who were trained and assessed as competent.
“There were enough staff who had been safely recruited to meet people's needs. People took part in meal planning and helped prepare meals which they were encouraged to eat together.
“People were supported to take part in education, with one person celebrating a significant achievement on the day of our inspection.
“People's care plans were person-centred and fully reflected each person's care journey.
“The culture in the service was found to be extremely positive, with staff feeling exceptionally valued and supported to deliver high quality care.”
Mr Rawcliffe said: “It is so nice to see all the references in the report to individual pieces of work that contribute to the overall picture of what makes Lyndhurst special.
“It's a testament to the hard work that everyone at Lyndhurst puts in every day to ensure that the young people receive the care and support that they deserve."
Rachel Scullion, managing director of Care in Mind said: “A huge congratulations to Lyndhurst for this achievement in their first CQC inspection. Thank you to the team for all their hard work in achieving this result, we really value the work they do.”
