A CITY centre sculpture which honours the 56 victims of the Valley Parade fire disaster in 1985 has been spruced up.
Bradford Council has revealed that the Bradford Fire Memorial situated in Centenary Square underwent a clean and inspection on Wednesday (January 25).
In addition, the surrounding hedges were trimmed back.
There was anger when the memorial was vandalised last year shortly before the annual memorial service on May 11.
At the time Bradford City AFC said it was “disgusted and deeply saddened” that the memorial was defaced.
“The memorial means so much for so many people and is close to our football club’s heart. We hope action is taken against those responsible,” said the club’s chief executive officer, Ryan Sparks.
