A BRADFORD woman has been jailed for a string of offences including stealing £700 of clothes from Superdry in the White Rose Shopping Centre.

Mandy Gaffey, 39, was sentenced to a total of 36 weeks imprisonment for offences including two counts of theft from shops on New Year’s Eve.

She also admitted going equipped for theft by carrying a magnetic security tag removal device, as well as taking a white Ford Galaxy without the owner’s consent from Branwell Avenue in Birstall.

As well as the jail term, Gaffey, of Mayfield Rise, Wyke, was banned from driving for 12 months.

Appearing before Leeds Magistrates’ Court on Monday, January 23, the court was told that Gaffey stole £715.89 worth of clothes from Superdry and £59.98 worth of items from a shop called Collectables both at the White Rose Shopping Centre in Leeds.

Magistrates said the offences were aggravated by the defendant’s record of previous offending and the fact that they were committed while subject to a community sentence.

Gaffey received no separate penalty after admitting using a motor vehicle without third party insurance and driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence – both on Dewsbury Road, which is near the shopping centre.
