ANYONE who feels down in the dumps in January - which thankfully is almost over - should feel cheered by this picture.

Kimberley Walsh of the band Girls Aloud made a trip to her former dance academy, DM Academy, Briggate, Shipley, in May 2006. Here she chatted with old teachers, present pupils and helped promote a new performing arts course at the Shipley College. Pictured are pupils cheering and waving to welcome Kimberley to the academy, and what an uplifting sight they present. You can almost feel their excitement.

Girls Aloud achieved great success, having 20 consecutive top ten singles, including four at number one, in the UK. They has six studio albums certified platinum by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI), two of which went to number one in the UK, and accumulated five BRIT Award nominations. In 2009, Girls Aloud won best single with their song The Promise.
