A YOUNG Bradford man has been sentenced for driving without due care and attention on a motorway.
Mikhail Malik, of Mill House Rise, off Rooley Lane, was behind the wheel of a Mercedes C220 on the M1 Southbound Junction 37-36 in Barnsley on June 4, 2022.
Count documents state the vehicle was going at an excess speed, tailgating motorists before undertaking another vehicle and accelerating to nearly 100mph.
Due to the manner of driving, the vehicle was stopped and Malik was spoken to.
Malik initially tried to claim another motorist made a gesture.
But his manner of driving was already poor before any gesture was made, court documents state.
The 21-year-old was fined £440 and had to pay a £44 victim surcharge and £90 in court costs.
The case was proved at a single justice procedure hearing at Sheffield Magistrates' Court on Thursday, January 5.
