A MAN has been fined more than £1,700 after breaking Covid travel rules at Leeds Bradford Airport.
Barrie Topham, 67, of Lane Ends View, Stanley, Wakefield, didn’t provide information on a passenger locator form when he arrived at Leeds Bradford Airport on July 14, 2021.
Topham landed at the airport from Amsterdam in the Netherlands. He faced a charge of failing to provide information on passenger locator form on arrival from outside the common travel area.
For the charge relating to the Covid locator form, Topham was fined £1,760, ordered to pay a £176 victim surcharge and £90 costs.
There was no separate penalty for a charge of failing to possess testing package on arrival in England. This offence also took place at Leeds Bradford Airport on July 14, 2021.
He was sentenced at a single justice procedure hearing held at Greater Manchester Magistrates’ Court on January 16, 2023.
