A MAN has been arrested after a woman was seriously injured in a crash in Bradford last night (Sunday).

Emergency services were scrambled to the scene of the crash at 7.06pm last night on Bradford Road near the junction of Aireville Road in Shipley.

A spokesperson for the West Yorkshire Police said: "Police were called to Bradford Road, Shipley, at 7.06pm on Sunday to a report of a serious collision.

"Officers attended the incident in which a Renault Clio and a VW Golf had been in collision. 

"A woman in the Clio suffered injuries which were serious but not believed to be life-threatening and was taken to hospital for treatment.

"The male driver of the VW Golf was arrested on suspicion of driving offences and drug driving.  Enquiries remain ongoing.

A spokesperson for Shipley Fire Station said: "One person was trapped and had to be cut free. Her injuries were serious but not life-threatening."

The woman suffered leg injuries and an ambulance took her to Leeds General Infirmary.

In addition to the police and ambulance service, both Shipley and Fairweather Green fire stations were in attendance.
