CHRIS Roberts, of Bradford & Bingley Weatherline, brings us the latest of his regular weekend weather forecasts.

General

High pressure will begin to build in this weekend with a milder sector of air from the North West, although it will be a slow process.

It will remain on the cold side right through the weekend, but temperatures will rise a little by day and night from current values next week.

Saturday

A very similar day to Friday. So a cold day, sunny and dry but not feeling too bad in the sunshine.

Temperatures from -3C overnight to 3C or 4C in a light SE breeze.

Overnight

Largely clear with some cloud building by dawn.

Potential increases for a few mist and fog patches, but these should be fairly localised to lowland areas. Lows of -2C in a light SE breeze.

Sunday

Any mist/fog, that has appeared, should slowly lift through the morning, but cloud will dominate most of the day with a few bright and sunny spells possible in the afternoon. Breezes will remain light Southerly. Temperatures from -1C to 3C in that light breeze.

Overnight

A slight frost and some more potential for mist and fog patches. It will again be dry. Lows of 0C in a light Southerly breeze.

Further Outlook

Milder air moves in from the North West bringing some fog patches as it slowly replaces the colder air beneath it.

The week is expected to become milder day on day with the first half of the week still feeling cold.

But the milder air will win out and by the end of the week and we should see average/above average temperatures.

It should also be largely dry, but some light showers are possible, but very hit and miss in nature.
