SOME of Bradford’s most popular pubs, clubs, and bars were celebrated at an awards ceremony.

Over 130 people attended the city’s first-ever Best Bar None Awards at the historic Midland Hotel.

Among the big winners on the night were Napoleons Casino, North Parade's Crafted, live music venue The Underground; local favourites The Ginger Goose and City Vaults, and The Light Cinema on Broadway.

The awards themselves highlighted those who have gone the extra mile to make Bradford an even safer and more vibrant destination to visit.

In total, 11 gongs were handed out in a variety of categories, and there were 15 venues in attendance to formally receive their Best Bar None accreditation.

Kevin Dean, of The Ginger Goose on Market Street, said: “I'm very pleased for my staff that they were rewarded for all their hard work, especially as their award was voted for by the public.

"The Ginger Goose has been on a long journey to make it a safe and friendly pub, with lots of characters who are really well looked after by the team.”

Bradford at Night coordinator Elizabeth Murphy said: "These last few years have been tough times for the trade, but our brilliant bars, pubs, and clubs in Bradford have not just kept going, they’ve raised the standard even higher.

"Many of the winners here will be well-known faces to people who come out in Bradford, and you don’t need me to tell you how passionate and dedicated to this city they are."

The judging panel was made up of representatives from the trade, including Bradford BID Manager Jonny Noble.

He added: “As we move towards Bradford’s year as the national City of Culture in 2025, all eyes are on us to ensure that we’re one of the safest, cleanest, and most vibrant places to enjoy a night out.

"Our brilliant hospitality sector recognises the role they play in promoting Bradford, and it’s great to be able to thank them in this way.”

Julie Monks, of The Light Cinema, said: “Being part of the Best Bar None process, and winning our accreditation, gives our guests confidence knowing we offer a clean and safe environment to enjoy their leisure time.

"It’s a benchmark that sets clear standards within our industry."

Bradford at Night has now submitted an application to the National Best Bar None Awards, which will be held at the House Of Lords in February.
