A BRADFORD man has been jailed for damaging an apartment block lift and window worth £2,500.

Modestas Urbonas, 28, of Sunbridge Road, Bradford, was sentenced for three offences at Leeds Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.

This included: criminal damage to property valued under £5000, common assault and failing to surrender to police/court bail at the appointed time.

Urbonas initially pleaded not guilty to all the offences but changed his plea to guilty for criminal damage in court last Tuesday.

He was found guilty of the other charges yesterday.

The 28-year-old damaged a window and lift in his apartment block, owned by Colonaide House, in Sunbridge Road on October 22 last year.

He also assaulted another man on Sunrbidge Road on that day.

Urbonas then failed to surrender to custody at Bradford Magistrates' Court on October 23, 2022, having been released on bail in criminal proceedings that same day.

The court sentenced the 28-year-old to 70 days in prison - 28 days each for criminal damage and common assault and 14 days for failing to surrender.

Urbonas was also ordered to pay £300 in compensation.

Court records show he was jailed for "a flagrant disregard for people and their property".
