A FUNDRAISING music night is celebrating the floor-fillers of the 1980s.

Relive The 80s is organised by cancer patient Jacqui Drake, who is aiming to raise £1 million for Leeds Cancer Centre.

Says Jacqui: "I knew Mick Duckworth from my days of choreographing in theatre and I knew he was in a band called Decade (pictured). So I approached them about performing for my appeal, Jacqui's Million, and they said they would be delighted to do a gig to raise some funds. Little did I know at this time that this would become an annual event!

"It is so popular; we always host it at the end of January when everyone has got over the festivities and the January blues have set in. It's such an uplifting and fun night.

"This year, because of its popularity, I've moved it to a larger venue. It will take place on Saturday, January 28 at Yeadon Town Hall theatre from 7pm.

"The audience can expect all their favourite 80s dance tunes and can get up and boogie the night away or just sit back, relax and sing along, while enjoying a drink or two from the bar. The guys in the band are brilliant and say they love doing the Jacqui's Million gig as everyone gets involved and makes them feel so welcome as soon as they set foot on stage."
