A PENSIONER has hit out at Incommunities after she was left without heating when her boiler broke.

The 67-year-old woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, realised the heating had gone off in her house on Monday evening.

She called the company the following day and was told someone would be out to check on her boiler -  but nobody came.

“I woke up on Monday night and I realised the heating had gone off," she said.

“It was really cold, and I called Incommunities the following day.

“This has been going on since October time. The boiler keeps breaking down and the pressure keeps falling.

“I’ve told them this and they said somebody would come and check on it, but nobody came up until today, and even then, it’s not fully fixed."

She fears it will break again in the coming weeks.

A new part has been ordered for her boiler, but the woman said she has been in pain and the cold has added to it.  She said she had told Incommunities about a change in her medical history.

“I’m in agony," she said.

“My back’s in so much pain and the cold is just adding to it.

“I’ve been cuddled up on the couch, with a blanket and my dressing gown on.

“They’re saying the weather is going to get worse before it gets better.

“I can’t be using electric blankets and heaters because of the cost."

The woman highlighted she was an elderly woman with health conditions and said she was unhappy with Incommunities' response.

An Incommunities spokesperson said they were sorry the woman had been temporarily without heating and added: "The health and welfare of our customers is always our most important priority.

“We can confirm that the customer reported a broken boiler at 8.55am on January 17.

"We attended this morning, January 18, and have ordered a new part for the boiler which will be fitted tomorrow."

The spokesperson said the woman was left with heating and hot water following today's visit.
