REMNANTS of a cannabis farm were found in a large mill after a fire which was "likely" linked to electrics being bypassed.
Officers from West Yorkshire Police's Batley and Spen Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) rushed to a fire at a large mill on Bradford Road, in Batley last Thursday.
Photos shared by the NPT team showed the inside of the building was completely charred with various types of debris littered around the rooms.
Police investigated the blaze and discovered it was an electrical fire that was "likely" linked to electricity being bypassed at the site.
They also said it looked as if there had been a cannabis farm inside the mill.
The remnants of this were destroyed.
A full statement from the Batley and Spen NPT said: "On 12 Jan officers were in attendance at a large mill fire on Bradford Road Batley.
"Following an investigation this transpired to be an electrical fire likely linked to the electricity that had been bypassed and the reminiscence of a cannabis farm was located and destroyed."
