A FOOTBALLER who used to play for both Bradford clubs caused a splash in the Love Island villa tonight as he coupled up with one of the girls.

The winter series of the popular ITV2 dating programme, set in South Africa, began on Monday.

Tom Clare, 23, who played for Park Avenue during the 2019-20 season and was on the books at Bradford City, arrived as a 'bombshell' at the end of episode one.

It meant the Macclesfield FC striker had 24 hours to narrow down who he wanted to couple up with.

The second episode started with Clare pulling all the girls to one side for a chat to the total shock of all the other boys who labelled him "Dora the Explorer".

It looked like Lana Jenkins would be the lucky one at first as Clare discussed being her "personal trainer".

One of the tasks included the semi-pro "snogging the three fittest Islanders". He chose Lana, Olivia Hawkins and Tanyel Revan.

Towards the end of the show, he received a text saying it was time for him to couple up with one of the girls.

In what was a "very very tough decision" Clare went with Olivia as he thought she would "keep him on his toes".
