Six miles of traffic after multi-car collision on M62 Eastbound

Lanes two and three (of three) of the M62 Eastbound have been closed after an incident before J26, M606. 

Five vehicles were involved in the collision between Junctions 25 and 26 of the Eastbound carriageway of the M62. 

West Yorkshire Police were called to the scene at 4:22pm.

There were no injuries reported but two lanes were closed to allow the vehicles to be recovered.

Traffic is queuing to Ainley Top, J24.

A traffic app reported: "Long delays, two lanes closed and queueing traffic for six miles due to A accident on M62 Eastbound before J26 M606 J1 (Chain Bar). Congestion to J24 (Ainley Top).

"Travel time is around 40 minutes. Lanes two and three (Of three) are closed."

A spokesperson foe West Yorkshire Police said: "At 4.22pm today (Tuesday), police received a report of a multiple vehicle collision between Junctions 25 and 26 of the Eastbound carriageway of the M62.

"Officers attended and found the collision involved at least five vehicles.

"Two lanes were closed on the carriageway to allow for vehicles to be recovered.

"No injuries were reported."
