SEVEN people in Bradford have been in court this month for unlawfully using a disabled person's badge to park their vehicle.

The cases have all been heard at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates' Court.

The court heard how one of the women charged, Rujena Begum, had a blue badge due to a family member’s disability.

However, when she parked in a disabled bay on Darley Street she was shopping by herself – and her disabled relative was not present.

Chairman of the Bench Brian Outlaw said: “Blue badges and disabled bays are there for a reason, you should know that.”

All seven of the individuals were fined and had to pay victim surcharges and court costs.
