A 51-YEAR-old man has been sentenced for carrying a knife and a knuckle duster in Silsden.
Ian Michael North, of Hawthorn Road, Yeadon, appeared before Bradford and Keighley Magistrates’ Court on January 10, and changed his plea to guilty on both charges.
Both offences of possessing an offensive weapon in a public place happened on March 24, 2022, at Belton Road in Silsden.
North had initially pleaded not guilty but admitted the offences at the latest hearing.
He was sentenced to six months imprisonment, suspended for 18 months.
As part of his sentence, he must have treatment for drug dependence for six months, and carry out up to 20 days of rehabilitation activity requirement.
In addition, a community order made in October 2022 for offences of drug driving, was revoked and he was resentenced to the drug rehabilitation treatment.
He must also pay £300 in costs and £128 as a surcharge to fund victim services.
