A 29-YEAR-old man has been jailed for six months after being caught with an offensive weapon in the centre of Bradford.

Scott Aaron North admitted possessing an offensive weapon in a public place when he appeared before Bradford and Keighley Magistrates’ Court.

The charge dates back to September 21, 2022, at Hamm Strasse and Midland Road in Bradford, when North had a X1 pink adapted weapon with a glass blade.

He was sentenced to six months imprisonment as magistrates found the offence to be so serious due to the defendant’s flagrant disregard for court orders, as well as for people and their property.

North, of Recreation Place, Holbeck, Leeds, also admitted failing to surrender to custody at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates’ Court on October 26, 2022, and November 22, 2022.

He was ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £154.
