A PROVISIONAL driver was caught using a Motability Scheme vehicle in Bradford.

West Yorkshire Police's Steerside Enforcement Team - the force's dedicated initiative for tackling anti-social and dangerous driving - shared the news about the job on its Twitter page on Sunday.

Officers from the team stopped a silver car on Rebecca Street.

The driver only had a provisional licence and the vehicle was from the Motability Scheme.

Motability is a charity in the United Kingdom and those who receive a mobility allowance can lease a brand-new car, Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV), scooter or powered wheelchair through the scheme.

Police reported the driver for various offences and seized the car.

A report has also been issued to Motability about the circumstances.

A spokesperson for the Steerside Team said: "Having been found to only hold a provisional driving licence, the driver of this Motability Scheme car will be reported for various offences and the car was seized.

"A report will also be issued to Motability about the circumstances."
