A BRADFORD man has been fined more than £200 for dropping a cigarette butt.

Martin Carroll, 64, of Ash Hill Walk pleaded guilty to throwing down, leaving or otherwise depositing litter at Lancashire Magistrates' Court on December 20, last year.

The court record was made available today.

Carroll dropped a cigarette butt and left it in Victoria Street, in Fleetwood, Lancashire on July 21 last year.

The 64-year-old was ordered to pay the courts £224 in total for the offence.

That includes a fine of £40, a surcharge of £16 to fund victim services and costs of £168.

The total balance must be paid by January 17.

Carroll's guilty plea was taken into consideration.
