A popular bus route is set to divert amid ongoing roadworks.

The 617 - which connects people to Allerton and Holme Wood - is currently unable to turn right onto Sticker Lane. 

The 618 bus service is also affected.

First bus is now running a diversion for the 617 via Holmewood Road and Cutler Heights Lane.

Metro said Fenby Avenue has been closed due to a gas leak.

In an update, the bus company said: "SERVICE ALERT - 617 Due to road works at Fenby Avenue, buses are unable to turn right on to Sticker Lane.

"This will divert via Holmewood Road, Cutlet Heights Lane. We apologise for any inconvenience caused."

Metro said: "Services 617, 618 are diverting via Cutler Height Lane and Holmewood Road in both directions, due to Fenby Avenue being closed due to a gas leak."
