A BRADFORD man has been ordered to pay more than £500 for a train offence.

Kudakwashe Mushipe, 23, of Soaper Court, was found guilty of boarding a train in a non-compulsory ticket area without a valid ticket, at South Yorkshire Magistrates' Court last Thursday.

The 23-year-old did not appear at court and the offence was proved in his absence.

Mushipe got on a train at Leeds Railway Station to go to Lincoln Railway Station on October 10 last year.

But he did not have a valid ticket which entitled him to travel.

The court ordered Mushipe to pay £516 in total.

This includes a £220 fine, £58 in compensation, a surcharge of £88 to fund victim services and £150 in costs.

It all must be paid by February 2.
