AN education provider has been granted permission to convert one floor of a listed city centre mill into offices.
The UK curriculum and accreditation body revealed plans to turn the third floor of Ambler Mill, off Valley Road, to office and education use last year.
Bradford Council has now granted permission from the change.
The Grade II, 19th Century mill is one of Bradford’s best preserved mills, and is already used as office space by a number of organisations.
Plan to turn last vacant floor of listed mill into flats is approved
The application said: “UK CAB is a UK based, not for profit educational, training, awarding, accreditation and quality assurance charity that provide training to those who need to develop skills in all manner of ways including hygiene, healthcare but also finance and business.”
The space in Ambler Mill will be “predominantly used for office and administrative purposes, but with the option to occasionally provide training and education workshops to its clients.”
Planning officers said: “There are no external changes proposed to this building, so the appearance will not alter, and the existing character of the area will be maintained. Only internal works are proposed, which include the removal of stud walling, which are later additions and will not impact on the special interests of this heritage asset.”
