A MAN from Birmingham has appeared in court for speeding on a major Bradford district road.

Amer Islam Choudhery, 31, of Church Road, Edgbaston, appeared on one charge of exceeding a 50mph speed limit in contravention of a local traffic order.

He was clocked by manned equipment speeding at 72mph in a 50mph zone of Sir Fred Hoyle Way, also known as the Bingley Bypass, Bingley, on November 6, 2021.

Choudhery was handed five driving licence points, fined £450 and ordered to pay a £45 victim surcharge and £105 costs for the offence. A collection order was made at the sentencing hearing.

He changed his plea to guilty when he was sentenced at Bradford & Keighley Magistrates’ Court on December 19, 2022. He had pleaded guilty at a previous hearing.
