THERE is set to be nine days of train replacements at the end of this month as a station undergoes a multi-million-pound transformation.
Morley Railway Station is being developed as part of the Transpennine Route Upgrade and some important works begin on the last weekend of the month (January 28 and 29).
This includes laying the foundations for new, longer platforms, realigning the track to support faster trains through the area and completing important drainage work.
The improvements will also take place from February 4 to February 12.
It means buses will replace some trains between Huddersfield and Leeds and rail diversions will be in place across these days of work.
Passengers are being urged to plan ahead - using National Rail or their train operator's website - and also to allow extra time, as a result of this.
The overall upgrades will see Morley Station relocated approximately 75 metres from its current position, which will allow for the longer platforms.
These will provide space for faster, more frequent and greener trains with more seats available for passengers travelling between Manchester, Huddersfield, Leeds and York.
A new footbridge with lifts will also make the station fully accessible for everybody.
