A LOCAL church is opening its doors every Tuesday morning as a warm space to help people through the winter.
St Michael’s at Shelf is opening from 10.30am to 12.30pm offering a place to grab a hot drink, biscuits or toast, and a place to keep warm.
The move has been funded by Bradford Council as part of a growing number of warm spaces across the district.
They are designed to offer a place where people struggling to heat their homes amid the cost-of-living crisis can go free of charge to spend time.
The Council invited groups to join the Warm Spaces programme, offering a small grant of up to £1,000.
At St Michael’s on Carr House Road, there will also be crafting, games a library, as well as the chance to charge mobile phones.
The sessions run every week until March 28.
