JANUARY can be a dreary month. With the festivities of Christmas over, there doesn’t seem to be much to cheer about. So what about a walk to blow away the cobwebs? Whether rural or urban, walks can be invigorating and bring smiles to our faces when we are feeling down.
Here, former Bradford Council leader, former MP for Keighley and government minister Kris Hopkins, far left, is pictured in 2007 at start of a new season of Bradford Council’s guided walks.
And Bradford-born interiors expert Linda Barker is seen with a group of walkers conquering the Three Peaks in aid of Sue Ryder charity, in 2008.
Plus, we've thrown in a few more snaps of local people putting their best foot forward, to get you in the mood.
